Can a face from my past change my future?

When an invitation shows up out of the blue, I’m reminded of a promise I made to a girl twenty years ago and suddenly my heart is pounding.

Do I dare keep it?

She’s the one girl that ever meant a damn to me, and the one girl that got away. She walked out of my life once and it devastated me. Now life is giving me another shot, but if she walks out on me a second time I don’t think I’ll survive it.

Second chances don’t come around very often. Not for a one-percent biker like me. There are no do-overs in the MC life. Not when you’re staring down the barrel of a gun. Not when you’re deciding whether to pull the trigger.

But love? Maybe for once the luck of the Irish will shine down on me and give me a second chance with the one girl I let slip through my fingers.

Living with regret is a hard pill to swallow.

Living with the same regret twice? Impossible.

Sometimes facing your past can be the scariest thing you’ll ever do.

• MY REVIEW •

📎 Note: I originally read Green’s story in the Twisted Steel Anthology and this was my review. After the recent release of Green’s book (with the new content included), I reread it and have revised my review. 😊

Biker_CoupleRide

I’m a huge fan of James’ Evil Dead MC series and this story was a much anticipated one from a very much loved character: Green!

And lemme tell you… it doesn’t disappoint in regards to making me swoon more-so over Green! His story was short and sweet, and shows a completely different side to him that I hadn’t expected (in a good way)! For those who aren’t familiar with this Evil Dead MC brother, Green is considered the guy who doesn’t really take himself or anything too seriously. He’s warm fuzzies and funny to boot but was never into wanting to settle down. Until of course… his story! 😉

He’s older now, most of his fellow MC brothers have settled down and started families of their own, and it’s made him really think about his future. Opportunities to get his life in order come through in the way of moving back into his childhood home, and receiving an invitation to his high school reunion. The possibility of seeing Sara, his old high school girlfriend in this reunion has him reminiscing their time together and how their relationship ended all those years ago. It’s given him the mindset that seeing her in this reunion and catching-up could be their second chance to reconnect romantically.

When I initially read Green’s story in the anthology, I was instantly hooked but felt it was too short and hoped that when the time came for James to release his own book that she would extend his story further. Well… wish granted! 🙏 James included extra scenes with Green and his fellow club brothers, making this MC-lite romance story just a smidge more balanced out with MC elements and romance. The scenes that take place also sets up future stories that I am giddy and raring to read!

It’s addictive and I couldn’t read it fast enough, but I also think there were certain developments between Green and Sara that could’ve been more in-depth. But knowing James’ characters tend to make appearances and crossovers throughout her books, I’m not too phased as there’s a high probability we’ll get to see more of Green and Sara in the future.

I’m not always a fan of flashbacks to the past in storylines as it can get a bit tedious and slow the pacing down but in this case the flashbacks provided in Green’s story elevated the moments and gave his relationship with Sara some complexity. Despite the length of the story being on the shorter side, James managed to get me effortlessly invested in Green’s and Sara’s relationship. I was already a big fan of Green but Sara’s a completely new character. In a short span, I already found myself liking her personality and overall presence.

I do adore the fact that they had history. It makes their relationship believable, especially with how quickly things progressed in the story. Although it’s been twenty years, I love that they were so in-sync with one another like no time had passed.

– MC Romance
– High School Sweethearts
– Second Chance Romance

This was more MC-lite in comparison to the previous books from James’ Evil Dead MC series. I didn’t necessarily mind it because it certainly sets it apart from the other brothers’ stories where theirs had more darker plotlines. Green’s and Sara’s definitely centred more on the romantic side of this MC romance story. I love the reconnecting/ second-chance aspect and that it was Green who ended up having this trope — it provided him with more dimension from his usual light-hearted, jokey side that I constantly saw throughout in the series. He was always the comic relief amongst the brothers in the MC and whenever he made an appearance in any of the books his scenes were instant LOL moments, so his story was much anticipated. Overall, I’m happy to say it lived up to what I hoped it would be. It’s swoon-worthy. We get to learn more about Green outside of the club, and we get to meet the chick who snagged Green’s heart. It held my complete attention from beginning to end! #TeamGreen #TeamIrish 🍀

A sweet and relatively short MC-lite romance story you can easily read in one sitting, and will have you happy sighing by the end. The world James has created and expanded never ceases to amaze me, and this story is a fab addition to her series! It’s a must-read for her fans, and more specifically avid fans of her Evil Dead MC series. It can technically be read as a standalone but your experience with Green and his club would be so much more heighted if you read the series from the beginning.

• BLURB •

Rocker Charlotte Justice longs to escape her hectic life. Her estranged twin sister, Scarlett, owns Badlands, a biker bar outside Vegas, and has always wanted a chance at the limelight she feels was stolen from her.

On a whim, they decide to switch places like they did when they were kids.

What harm could it do?

Charlotte had no idea that the escape she planned would leave her on the receiving end of creepy texts, phone calls and “gifts” left at her door. Flying blind in her new role, pretending to be someone she’s not, Charlotte learns more about her secretive sister than she ever imagined.

On top of all of that, she’s doing everything she can to escape the sexy-as-sin MC President demanding she pay back the debt she owes him–that or sell him the bar.

Could the person stalking her also be the President of the Evil Dead MC’s Las Vegas Chapter? An alpha male who’s come-on to her in a won’t-take-no-for-an-answer kind of way that has her wondering just how badly she wants to say no.

Does he want Badlands badly enough to scare her into selling out?

Or is he the only one who can save her from a madman?

Charlotte will have to solve the mystery if she’s going to save the bar, and possibly her very life.

“For a girl like you, I’m willin’ to put in the effort.”

I’m flailing my arms in excitement and in desperation of the next book! Eeeep! Nicole James has smashed it again! See, this is why she is an auto-buy author of mine. She never fails at keeping her readers engaged with her stories and invested in her characters— and this little reader right here was hooked from the second Charlotte and her twin sister Scarlett started swapping clothes and spontaneously decided to temporarily trade lives!

KateUpton_Fans

Nicole has plenty of books under her belt and all the ones I’ve read so far have had some pretty amazing storylines. This one stood out with its intriguing premise. It’s a trading places storyline weaved into a light MC romance. It has a more contemporary romance feel in comparison to Nicole’s other MC romance books. With its small town setting, the world-building heavily revolves around the protagonists, Charlotte and Daytona. There was an immediate connection between the two that automatically had me sitting up in attention. Despite some serious tension and danger in the air, the story still had an overall light atmosphere to it.

Similarly to Nicole’s other books, this one had plenty of heated banter between its hero and heroine, alongside some lighthearted comic-relief ribbing courtesy of the secondary characters— who so happens to be the brothers from the bright and shiny new Evil Dead MC Las Vegas Chapter! 😍😍

If you’ve read her Evil Dead MC series, then the introduction of a brand, spankin’ new Chapter would make your eyes pop-out-of-its-socket giddy! It practically means new blood, and I for one, am all for it!

Daytona is the President of this chapter but right off the bat I discovered he’s different from the other Evil Dead MC Chapter Presidents. He may be a badass alpha biker, but he’s openly affectionate, straightforward, and doesn’t play games. He knows what he wants, and it’s evident when he first lays eyes on Charlotte.

Charlotte is rightfully skeptical of Daytona and his motives, especially considering she’s currently living life as her sister. I would’ve loved to have seen more character development from both (especially Charlotte) but with how the story played out and especially how this book concluded, I’m hoping there’s a lot more to reveal in the next book.

The story is told from first person, dual points of view, and progressed in a relatively fast-pacing. There’s a lot of things happening that’ll keep you on your toes. It’s insta-romance with a layer of crime thriller added. There’s lots of suspense and second-guessing that it was hard to predict where the story would lead.

Please note, there are certain sensitive subject matters within the story that may be triggering for some readers. Besides the mature sexual content, it also contains violence, stalking, and kidnapping. This book is for mature audiences 18+ only.

The romance elements are swoony and had just the perfect amount of sweetness. It might have been on the insta-love side as far as romantic relationships go but it wasn’t at all unconvincing. They may have gotten together relatively quickly but there’s genuine interest in getting to know each other in more depth. You get Daytona’s backstory and an understanding of his mentality and how he lives his life. And with the arrival of this new Evil Dead MC Chapter, I was instantly curious about all the new club members who were introduced right alongside Daytona in this book. They may have only had minor roles in this story but they definitely made quite an impression! 😊

It’s a relatively shorter full-length novel but it was jam-packed full of detail and dimension, and the story didn’t stray away from its initial narrative. Nicole created a vivid world that I was effortlessly transported to. These characters go through a whirlwind of emotions and a rollercoaster of drama that you can’t help but sympathize. Even though this is fictional and some of the plots are dramatized, the situations that Charlotte and Daytona find themselves in are real-life, relatable experiences. Their lives are complex and their feelings are understandable and seem realistic.

Overall, I found it to be a hearty story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. There was constant buzz and build-up throughout that it was hard not to be gripped by it all. I was truly bummed to see it end and knowing I’d have to wait a little while for the release of book two. It ends on a cliffhanger but I’m relieved to see it concluded in a way where this particular part of Charlotte’s and Daytona’s story was somewhat settled…? Their relationship may be up in the air for the time being but the cat’s outta the bag and now we’ll just have to see how it all plays out from there. *dun dun duuuuun* Eeep.

If you enjoy reading about alpha heroes who have a gentlemanly side to them, and fiery heroines with backbone, then I recommend you give this one a try.

Definitely a must read for any Nicole James fan. I think this story is a great introduction for romance readers wanting to try MC romance books— whilst it certainly contains MC romance elements, it’s not completely MC heavy. It’s also technically an age-gap romance but it’s hardly noticeable, in my opinion.

• BLURB •

A woman lost in grief and pain. A bossy biker determined to bring her back to life.

A wickedly wild ride. Paige knows the meaning of pain and loss.

Two years ago she left town to nurse her grief over the death of her husband in a tragic bike wreck. Now she’s back— returning to the one family that understands the depth of her loss— her MC family.

WICKED—

My brother’s ol’ lady.

I’ve carried unspoken feelings for her since the night we met.

Ransack and I were as close as two MC brothers could be. I was with him the night he died. I held Paige in my arms in the trauma bay as she collapsed, her wailing sobs tearing my heart out. And the month after the funeral, I helped her load up Ransack’s old truck and head off for Macon— taking my heart with her.

I wish I could take that pain away from her.

More than once I’ve wished I’d died in my brother’s place.

Ransack’s death had been a huge loss for me, but watching Paige drive out of my life as well, ripped my heart out. Now she’s back.

When I see her standing across the clubhouse, instantly my lust for her flares back to life like it’s been days, not years.

She drove out of my life once, but I’ll be damned if I’ll waste this second shot with her.

All I have to do is win her heart from a dead man. I’ll do anything to keep my woman safe. Only problem is— Paige is stubborn and willful. And she never does anything she’s told.

PAIGE—

Wicked. He’s the one man I could always count on.

When I see him across the clubhouse for the first time in years, my heart begins beating again.

I need him, more than he can possibly know.

But in order to have a chance together, I have to let go of the past.

That’s easier said than done.

When information comes to light, I begin to question if my husband’s death was the tragic accident it appeared.

Determined to find out the truth… I won’t let anything stop me.

But the evidence I dig up could put everything I hold dear in jeopardy— Wicked, our future, and my very life.

• MY REVIEW •

Ok. Before I delve into my review, in case you didn’t know, Wicked was originally published as a novella called My Ol’ Lady. It’s part of the Evil Dead MC series, James expanded the story, renamed it (obviously 🙄😜), and it’s here in all its glory! Wooo! 🙌

I’m gonna cut to the chase— Wicked is another amazing addition to the series! This was a second chance romance with a twist as Paige was originally an ol’ lady of another MC brother who died in an accident. His best friend Wicked has always had an attraction to Paige but never acted on it. She moved away shortly after to try and get a fresh start but a couple years later she moves back home and reunites with the club. All romantic feelings come flooding back for Wicked once he sees her again and it’s like no time has passed. The kicker is… Paige has the same feelings for Wicked too!

Scarlett_Shrugs

This was a relatively quick read (still on the shorter side of a full-length novel) with fast-paced storytelling. It’s told from both points of view and the majority of the story focuses on Paige being able to move on from her deceased hubby.

There’s a nice amount of MC elements still going on on the sidelines whilst Paige and Wicked figure out their budding relationship. I would’ve loved if it was a little longer to really give their story and their relationship a deeper development. I thought it could’ve been more in-depth. Paige and Wicked have known each other quite a long time but their past wasn’t something that was delved into in detail other than a couple of flashback memories. It gives you some insight into Wicked, Paige, and her husband Ransack’s friendship/relationship but I couldn’t fully connect with it because there wasn’t enough past interactions to make me see the close brotherhood they supposedly had.

I don’t know if that was purposely done so readers wouldn’t get attached to Ransack (because he’s dead and this is Paige’s and Wicked’s story) but in my opinion it lacked some form of bond, resulting in my lack of connection and emotion in really loving this couple as much as previous couples in this series.

Scarlett_Kisses

Putting those minor issues aside, I did overall enjoy reading this book. It still has great world-building in place with the brotherhood dynamics present. I was excited to see some of the past MC brothers make appearances in this book to give the story some dimension. There’s more than meets the eye with Paige’s story and the accident the killed Ransack, so I was kept on my toes as the truth slowly revealed itself.

Paige’s and Wicked’s rollercoaster of emotions and uncertainty within their relationship felt fairly relatable. I sympathized with Paige’s struggle to fully commit to a new relationship, and with Wicked’s frustration with having to somewhat compete with a ghost for Paige’s love.

James has added her usual trademark swoon-worthy heroes who are just the right amount of sweetness and protective alpha. The usual brotherly banter is there which is one of the reasons I first fell in love with this series, and even though this is an MC romance, there’s no doubt that “love conquers all” and a “happily ever after” is present.

I always love the balance of light and dark within the storylines of each book in this series. There may be some suspense and serious subject matters on occasion, but there’s also amazing friendships, swoon-worthy coupling, and tons of entertaining banter as well! Wicked is no different!

Bikers_Ride

A must read for fans of Nicole James and her Evil Dead MC series and perfect for any romance reader looking for MC romance books. 👌😉 The world-building is oh-so vivid and ever-expanding with each new book. Although this book can be read as a standalone, to get the full experience of their MC brotherhood and all the relationships, I highly recommend you start from the beginning with Outlaw and work your way from there (reading order below).

• MINI REVIEW •

This book was crazy good (and where my addiction with MC romances started). So much drama and intrigue that I couldn’t put it down. An unexpected chance meeting that ends up turning into so much more. Seeing a rough and rugged biker, with a closed off heart start to unravel over someone who was so not part of his world had me not only swooning but on the edge of my seat anxious to see how everything would go down with them two. Such a roller coaster ride, and an unbelievably amazing start to the series (and introduction to all the brothers of the MC!) P.S. I may or may not have cried once or twice reading it.. 🙈

My fave book from the entire series hands down! This series is already onto book 10 and not a single one of them have knocked Crash off top spot! 😊 This book had it all for me — A hate to love romance trope, a protective badass of an alpha male – who can turn into a sweet gentleman like *clicks fingers* that! And a helluva lot of banter that’ll have you giggling all throughout! 😍😍 A lot of twists and turns with this one, that you won’t know what’s happening until it smacks you in the face! The steamy scenes in this book were just that–STEAMY! Crash is completely book boyfriend goals!

• SHADES •

• BLURB •

Shades hadn’t seen Skylar in years, and now here she was, the love of his life, riding back into his life on the back of a brother’s bike.

For years after Shades had lost Skylar, he’d tried satisfying the emptiness of losing her with booze, pussy and the club. He’d turned his frustration at having to give her up into a determination to climb the ranks of the club, but he hadn’t counted on the fact that the pull he’d felt toward Skylar had only laid dormant in him all these years. Or that all it would take to reignite it was just one look at her. And he sure as hell hadn’t counted on her showing up on the back of a brother’s bike.

When Skylar finally comes back into his life, will his desire for earning that VP patch stand in the way of any future he could have with her?

And when a rival MC shows up looking for Skylar, things go from complicated to damn near impossible.

Does Skylar come with more baggage than Shades is willing to sign up for?

• MINI REVIEW •

A second chance romance like no other. These two have a complicated past that comes plunging back when they finally cross paths with each other again after so many years. I loved that Shades was a completely different person when he was with Skylar in comparison to when he’s with his MC brothers. Like the previous two books, the protagonists’ attraction for each other oozes off the page. Their relationship has some serious issues that they have to work through, but it’s part of the appeal of their story. I love the character growth in Shades, and the come-full-circle of their coupling.

WOLF

• BLURB •

The Evil Dead Motorcycle Club gave Wolf his nickname. They said it was because women stood about as much chance with him as Little Red Riding Hood stood against The Big Bad Wolf. And maybe that was true.

For Wolf, when it comes to his club, he’s all about loyalty. He loves his brothers, he loves the freedom of the road, and he loves his independence. When it comes to women, Wolf is all about the chase. He likes the hunt, he likes the challenge, and he loves women. And for the hot-as-hell badass biker, they’ve always come too easily. But they never fully satisfy him.

That is, until he met Crystal.

Buried under that hard-edged sexy-as-sin tomboy with the smartass mouth that can put any brother in the MC in his place, is a feminine side she only reveals when pushed. And Wolf is just the man to push. Problem is she’s the only woman to ever push back. Which only makes him more determined to have her.

Life in the Evil Dead MC isn’t easy, and neither is loving one of them. It’s a life that can leave a man scarred and bloody. And sometimes the fallout is far reaching and takes more than a man is willing to give.

It can be just as risky for any woman brave enough to love one of them.

The scars of life run deep, for both of them.

Sometimes life doesn’t give you a fairytale, sometimes you have to make your own.

And sometimes it takes a spitfire to tame a hell-raiser.

• MINI REVIEW •

Ever since Wolf and Crystal were first introduced in the previous books, I had been curious about them and wanting to see what their deal was. What I got from them in this book was so much more than what I imagined. Theirs was probably one of the more heart-breaking stories. What started out as friends with benefits (and denying their true feelings) turns into one fucking complicated mess that had me wondering if they would ever be able to work through it all. The things Skylar went through in this book is both relatable and realistic to a lot of women. I love the evolution of them as individuals and as a couple. Their story is told in both the past and present times of their lives, which really provides you with how much history is between Wolf and Skylar. Nicole James added some perfectly timed light-heartedness to break up the tension and seriousness in some scenes, and the support of the brotherhood was especially great in this one. It’s a beautiful love story. Little Tip: tissues are a must-have when reading it!

My least fave from the series (just wasn’t feeling it). This was an (ex) step-siblings turned lovers romance. They reconnect after Jessie tracks him down in need of his help.

I was a fan of Ghost in Shades’ book, with my first impression of him being he was pretty-laid back, funny, and sweet as hell. Unfortunately those traits were lacking in his own book, and in my opinion didn’t do his character complete justice. Sure he was protective but he was also tough, arrogant, and domineering needing to have everything his way.. yet he kept changing his bloody mind! 🙄

Whilst Jessie gave in too easily. I’d say she’s your stereotypical damsel in distress. And she certainly needed Ghost’s help with her dilemma. Still a decent read. I became invested in these guys so I could not NOT read this one!

 RED DOG

• BLURB •

** This is a NOVELLA **

The boys of the Evil Dead MC are out on business—the shady kind that happens in the dark of night miles from nowhere—when Red Dog gets a call from one of his club brothers. Seems Red Dog’s ol’ lady has picked tonight to take off and go drinking fifty miles from home.

The fact that she waits until he’s six hours away—doing an arms deal on the California-Oregon border—to pull this stunt, doesn’t amuse him.

Just wait until he gets his hands on her.

Only problem is—that may be easier said than done.

What ensues is a game of hide-and-seek with the boys all helping their MC brother track down his ol’ lady.

Along the way, Red Dog remembers why he fell in love with his little China Doll in the first place.

And he’ll be damned if he’s going to let anything or anyone keep them apart again, not even her.

• MINI REVIEW •

Ahhhh okay.. *flails arms* Red Dog is my second fave Evil Dead brother! 🤭😍 I wish his story wasn’t a novella because it was just so, so good. Red Dog is actually the only member who was introduced in the series already having an ol’ lady. This novella is pretty much how he met Mary and some of the difficult times they’ve gone/ going through in their lives. I love the chase in this one. The grovelling was my fave part of the entire book. That may sound mean but Red Dog is this big bad biker yet really he’s all sweetness! Not only was it entertaining to see (thanks to the brotherly banter), it was also the part that always gets me choked up. No matter how many times I reread his novella, I still get teary-eyed seeing the red-headed viking share his feelings with Mary. Ughhh LOVE!  I also have to mention that I love the little bit of diversity in this one — with Mary being half Asian. As I’ve come to understand, there’s not a lot of diversity in MCs, so this was a really nice addition 💘 Highly recommend. If you start this series, do not skip out on this novella.

 BLOOD

• BLURB •

A tale of revenge, loyalty and debts owed.

He’s the Enforcer for the New Orleans Chapter of the Evil Dead MC.
She’s a nurse, kidnapped and thrust into a situation out of her control.

Chained to a bed, his wounds on fire, his mind foggy with fever, Blood is losing all hope of ever making it out of the stifling New Orleans row house. Until the door opens and an angel of mercy is thrust inside.

Nurse Catherine ‘Cat’ Randall stared at the man on the bed. He’s dark and dangerous and everything she hates—just another filthy biker. Only he isn’t. He’s nothing like the others. And she’s his only hope of escape. Can she risk helping him? Can she trust a man who wears an MC patch? How can he be her savior when he wears the face of her deepest fear?

Blood owes the pretty nurse a debt—one he’s determined to repay, even if it clashes with his duty to his club. He made her a promise. But time is running out. To keep that promise and repay the debt he owes, he may have to sacrifice it all—everything that ever meant a damn to him.

Fighting treachery, betrayal, and dirty deals, there are a hundred ways it could all go wrong, but Blood is determined to have Cat for his own. She’s fast becoming his weakness. As the smoldering passion between them flares to life, burning hot and intense, no one is going to stop him. He wants it all, and he’ll settle for nothing less.

This is an emotional story filled with twists and turns, tragedy and humor that only the Evil Dead MC can deliver. Hang on for a ride you won’t forget.

• MINI REVIEW •

Not gonna lie, whilst I did like this book overall.. I also found it a little busy. A lot of different things happened in this book (some of which started a chain of events that you’ll see in following books).

Blood was one of the brothers I totally fawned over when he was introduced — another character I could not wait to read more about, and whilst I did like him in this one, Cat and his story didn’t completely win me over. Cat, who I initially liked at the beginning slowly became someone I wasn’t really enjoying reading about. The chemistry between them wasn’t as palpable as I thought it would be (considering what I’ve seen of Blood in Shades’ book) 🤷‍♀️ Yeah… the scenes where it was just the two of them had me all smiles, but there were parts of this story that dragged a little long for me.

One nice change of pace about this one though is the backdrop. It’s set in New Orleans and the culture and people detailed out in this book I consider a highlight. Blood, himself was another. I would reread this book just for him.. because he is dreamy. Hehe.

 UNDERTAKER

• BLURB •

When Undertaker saved an innocent young girl from the clutches of a rival MC, he never expected she’d form an attachment to him, refusing to leave the safety of his clubhouse. But the President of the Evil Dead MC has a club to run. What he doesn’t have is the time or the experience to help Holly get past the traumatic experience she’s been through. Counseling is what she needs, and he’ll see she gets it.

The last thing Undertaker expects to see when that therapist walks through his clubhouse doors is a face from his past. They’d met years ago when he’d been ordered into counseling as part of his parole. Eleven years locked in a cell does things to a man, but back then Undertaker hadn’t had time to deal with all his demons. He had a motorcycle club he needed to get back to, and an untimely death in the ranks had him stepping up to fill the spot of President and fulfill his destiny—one that didn’t include the fresh-out-of-college psychology intern who’d been put in charge of his case. She’d known nothing of his problems. How could she? Besides, he’d scared her to death.

Now, a dozen years later, fate was coming around again, throwing them back together. But Allison Carter wasn’t that naïve girl anymore; she was all woman now.
And the President of the Evil Dead’s New Orleans Chapter was about to make her his.
Only problem was he had to let one sweet girl down easy before he could pursue her hot-as-sin therapist. It won’t be so simple when trouble from his past threatens everything.

When an ex-con biker sets his sights on you, do you run?
No?
Not even when he comes with more trouble than you can handle?

• MINI REVIEW •

A older man/ younger woman second chance romance that pulls at the heartstrings. I enjoyed every second of this book. Not only are the characters a little older than the previous ones, the maturity in their relationship is also evident. There was no gaming playing — just two people who had a short encounter in the past coincidentally meet again after so many years and start getting to know one another. The gradual growth of their relationship is one of the most realistic in this series in regards to pacing, and by the end the love between these two felt rock solid. Another satisfying romance story that’ll leave you with a contented smile on your face.

 JOKER

• BLURB •

Holly—
She’s a twenty-year-old girl working towards getting over her traumatic past, and moving forward with her life. That means leaving the safety she’s found at the Evil Dead MC’s clubhouse, and returning to school and an apartment on campus.

Last thing she wants is her new biker bodyguard to think she’s a scared little child. So she bluffs her way through situations, pretending to be tough and fearless, when in reality she’s the complete opposite.

Holly can’t stand Joker—but tell that to her traitorous body.
Why did he have to be so good looking?
Why did he have to be the one to make her feel again?
And why did he have to be the one man she can’t have?

JOKER—
He has no idea what he’s done to earn the crap job of being this little brat’s new shadow, but he’s not about to let the president of his MC down. Joker was given one stipulation, she’s off limits. Holly may be a brat, but she’s also beautiful—and keeping his hands off her may be the death of him.

Joker isn’t about to stand for Holly’s bratty behavior. And he’s definitely not going to take any disrespect from her. For every stunt she pulls, he’s right there to drag her out of trouble and rein her in.

She was just a brat, until he saw her vulnerable side.
She was just a tough little smartass, until he saw the fear she hid.
She was just a job, until she wasn’t.

• MINI REVIEW •

A hate to love romance between two young leads. There’s a lot of fun and games, and banter in this storyline but the serious subjects within is what makes this book have depth in their budding relationship. Joker and Holly went from tolerating one another to truly needing each other.

Holly may have been bratty and immature at the beginning, but there’s reasoning behind that and the fact the Joker took the time and effort to help her work through it and move on really showed that he was more than just a club member doing what he was told.

A sweet story, and despite their young love, it had intensity, vulnerability, and passion that matches the rest of the romances in this series.

 HAMMER

• BLURB •

A badass biker and the sexy little sprite that wants nothing to do with him. They’re opposites in every way that matters-except one-they can’t keep their eyes off each other.

Hammer watches Tink strut past him without so much as a glance. His eyes moving over her hot little body-a body that’s been driving him crazy and keeping him awake at night.

She’s the one chick he’s been infatuated with for months, but she won’t give him the time of day. Hammer just doesn’t get it. After all, he’s a big, muscular man who turns female heads wherever he goes. Tattoos cover the skin of his sculpted body, and that combined with being a patched member of the Evil Dead MC does it for most women who are into bad boys. Not Tink, though.

Unfortunately for Hammer, the one woman he wants more than any other seems to be immune to him. Well, he’s had about enough of her snubbing him like he doesn’t even exist. He’s going after what he wants, and what he wants more than anything is that hot little girl with the short white-blonde hair. The one so petite, the guys in the club nicknamed her Tinker Bell. Yes, that sexy little sprite is going to be his.

Tink is totally aware of Hammer’s eyes on her as she walks past. Warmth floods her body, like it does every time she’s near him and he looks at her that way-like he’s undressing her with his eyes and imagining all the sordid things he’d like to do to her. Things she lies awake at night imagining as well. But Tink isn’t willing to risk her heart; not for a man who could hurt her like he could, a man who has already been with her sister. Raven always gets what she wants, and that’s usually anything she thinks Tink might want. Tink learned long ago not to even try to compete with her sister. It’s pointless. So, she’s carved out a life for herself surrounded by the men of this MC and the women who have become her best friends. It’s a world she thought her sister would never be interested in, and one where she’ll never have to compete with her.

Apparently, she’d thought wrong.

What happens when a badass biker wants the one woman he can’t have? How far will he go to have her?

• MINI REVIEW •

After reading the blurb for Hammer’s story, I instantly thought it sounded adorable… and guess what? It was! I’m obsessed with the fact that Hammer has always had a thing for Tink but she’s always just kind of avoided him like a plague. Lol. This book was his opportunity to finally try and get closer to Tink. There’s a lot of miscommunication and trust issues with these two, but this story was also light-hearted and endearing. I love that they are complete opposites — Hammer is a tatted-up biker, built like a tank, and can pretty much have any woman (except for Tink, that is). Tink is this teeny tiny pixie-like woman who happens to work behind the bar at their clubhouse and has seen what these brothers are like when women are around.

Like all the previous books in the series, there are always underlying issues and hurdles each couple goes through. Hammer is no different. Besides Tink trying to fight off her attraction for Hammer, they both have family issues they need to deal with. Hammer’s personal story is the standout for me though. Another amazing addition to the series, and at this point, these books have become guilty pleasure reads! 😅

I’m #currentlyreading Nicole James newest release — Dirty Deeds, first book in her new series Devil Kings MC (if you’ve read the Evil Dead MC series then you’ll know that Devil Kings are a rival MC).

I wanted to post this short review/ rating of each book in the original series that way you guys have a reference you can go back to when I have my review up for Dirty Deeds.

Shots

The Evil Dead MC is a dark gritty, yet swoony romance series that centres around members of a motorcycle club. Each can be read as standalones but I recommend reading them in order because the world-building gets more in-depth the further you read on, and characters tend to make appearances in each others books– and you wouldn’t want to miss any interesting developments in their lives, trust me! 😉 If you’re a fan of MC romances and would recommend some, please do! Always looking for more to add to my TBR!

⚠ But I should mention that these books do contain subjects that may trigger some readers. Whilst it’s not overly detailed or graphic — profanity, violence, physical and sexual abuse, and kidnapping is present. Readers 18+ only!
